Mass Transfer Operations Laboratory

Diffusivity Measurement – Gas Liquid Systems, Air Drying Apparatus, Steam Distillation Apparatus , Simple Distillation Apparatus , Air Compressor , Automatic Gas Plant, Cooling Incubator, Packed Bed Absorption Tower, Rotary Drier, Wetted Wall Column, Refrigerated Centrifuge, Shaking Incubator.

 

Heat Transfer Operations Laboratory

Thermal Conductivity Apparatus, Composite Wall Apparatus, Heat Transfer in Helical Coils, Multipass Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger, Parallel Flow – Counter Flow Heat Exchanger with Data Logging Facility, Double Pipe Heat Exchanger, Shell and Tube Condenser, Drop Wise and Film Wise Condensation Apparatus, Vertical Condenser, Emissivity Measuring Apparatus, Heat Transfer through Lagged Pipe, Heat Transfer through Natural Convection, Heat Transfer in Agitated Vessels, Forced Convection Apparatus, Heat Transfer through Pin Fin Apparatus, Composite Wall Apparatus, Apparatus for Determining Thermal Conductivity of Liquids and Metal Rods.

 

Reaction Engineering Laboratory

Process Control Laboratory

Single Tank Liquid Level System, Two Tanks Interacting System, Two Tanks Non Interacting System, First and Second Order Systems, Computerized Pressure Control System, Computerized Temperature Control System, Computerized Flow & Level Control System , Computerized Distillation Control System, Pneumatic Trainer Kit .

 

Software Laboratory

The software Laboratory has modern computational facilities including software related to Chemical Engineering. Other facilities include high speed internet connection, access to on-line journals and scan/print facilities.

 

 

 

 

Library

 

In addition to the central library, a well-equipped library is functioning in the Department of Chemical Engineering, catering to the needs of the members of the Department. The Department Library maintains a significant number of books and keeps record of industrial training reports, University Question Papers, and a report of seminars and projects presented by the students. The library also has photocopying and browsing facility.
